Resolve the trauma.
Get your life back.

A traumatic event can be life changing and affects not only how you feel, but also disrupts your entire gastrointestinal system. It affects us from the top of our head, to the tips of our toes. If the trauma is not resolved, the body gets weaker and weaker over time. Neurofeedback is extremely helpful for resolving trauma.

How trauma can show up

Hyper-reactivity

Startle, muscle tension, and difficulty settling after stress. Explosive behaviors in relationships can happen.

Sleep disruption

Nightmares, frequent waking, or trouble falling asleep.

Intrusive reminders

Flashbacks or thoughts that pull attention back to traumatic events.

Panic attacks

Periods of shutdown, extreme fear, sweating, possibly dissociating.

Hyper-vigilance

Constant awareness of what's going on around you in a fight-flight state.

GI Issues

Stomach issues due to the constant release of adrenaline, cortisol and epinephrine.

Safety planning and clinical care come first. We build from there.

How neurofeedback works

Real time feedback.
Neurotherapy helps the brain find regulations in alpha and theta waves, which helps to resolve the trauma.
No need to tell your story.
One huge benefit of neurofeedback for PTSD is the client does not have to tell his or her story. This is not a cognitive process, neurofeedback works at the cellular level non-invasively.

We coordinate with your therapist or prescriber when appropriate.

What to expect

  1. Discovery intake with the goal of creating a successful treatment plan.
  2. Treatment plan based on needs could include a combination of neurotherapy, CBT, and DBT.
  3. With neurotherapy we expect significant change within 3-5 sessions, when performed a minimum of twice weekly.

What people often notice

Fewer spikes

Less hyper-vigilance and hyper-reactivity, with fewer overwhelming flashbacks and emotional surges.

More settled sleep

Reduced nightmares and broken sleep, leading to steadier rest and less nighttime distress.

More presence

Relief from intrusive thoughts, GI distress, and anxiety makes it easier to stay engaged in conversations and daily tasks.

Sense of control

Lack of suicidal ideation and relationship distress, along with greater confidence in managing emotions between sessions.

Outcomes are individual. We track progress and adjust with you and your care team.
